So I’m a little late to jump into this series, but I am also a little late in reading a lot of YA books. I’m currently reading The Selection by Kiera Cass, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.
I liked this book, Delirium, from the beginning to the end. There were a few chapters that seemed repetitive and boring, but overall I did like the story. I did wonder why and how people came to believe that love needed a cure and why it was mandatory. No more freedom of choice? Why did people believe with the cure everyone would be truly happy? Seemed more like going through the motions of a life, rather than living one. I will be picking up the other books soon! I like Lauren Oliver’s style. This is only the second book I have read written by her.
I read Lauren Oliver’s book “Panic” first and liked it well enough to peak my curiously about her other books. So around next week, I’m going out and getting the second and third book, called “Pandemonium” and “Requiem.”
So is this book worth adding to your ever growing to-read list, if you haven’t picked it up yet?
In my humble opinion, yes.
The same for Panic(and it’s not in first person, hallelujah).
