So while I was cleaning my bookshelves and pondering over the ones I’ve already read, I decided to share three books from three different trilogies that have bitterly disappointed me. These trilogies are very popular and received a lot of hype and love, but totally tossed me off the bridge via an old fashioned backstabbing.
Ruin and Rising (The Grisha #3) by Leigh Bardugo
I loved the first book and the second book was just okay, but the last book ruined everything. I hated the ending. Others loved the book, but it was all ugh for me. It actually made me hesitant to read Bardugo’s new book (although now I am currently reading Six of Crows).
Altered (Crewel World #2) by Gennifer Albin
I adored Crewel so much. It was amazing and so unique, so I ordered and read the second book, and it felt very different. There were too many annoying things that turned me off from picking up book three. If I can remember correctly the love triangle thing made everything insufferable.
Kill the unnecessary love triangles.
Ice Like Fire (Snow Like Ashes #2) by Sara Raasch
So this trilogy isn’t finished yet, since the last book is coming out this year. Snow Like Ashes is one of my favorites and I just feel bitter about Ice Like Fire. I didn’t like it and it destroyed everything I adored about the characters. I might read Frost Like Night if the library gets it, but maybe not.
